Very beautiful right now. Makes me wish that goshiki did not tend to change so much. Even has delicate translucent motoguro - so nice at the moment. I am asking purely from clueless point of view: Does the dark nose and triangular shadow on head indicate that this fish may go darker in future? or is that irrelevant?

Kevin at Genki mentioned if there is a black line in front of each scale, the base will turn dark for what its worth which would be a shame to me with this koi. The look is perfect now!

That's not always true! With goshiki, this is what the newer (kimdai) version SHOULD look like when finished. The only problem here is that in this fishes case, it is still very young and only 9 1/2 inches in length - bonsai nisai or finished tosai?? It's on Pan Itnercorps auction website if you want more info.
