Lack luster AKCA and ZNA membership.....

Lack luster AKCA and ZNA membership, why is that? Is it the Old Blood having a hard time convincing the New Blood to join? This is something club members from both clubs to consider and bring to the table at your next meeting....

Also, does a koi club have to throw a "koi show" to be a koi club....?

Well . . .

I joined AKCA last year and I joined ZNA this year. I'm also 58 years old.

So, Tony, tell me: Am I Old Blood or New Blood. Hah!

I can't answer the first question since I'm relatively young and didn't need much convincing to join. I just figured it would be a natural step in my learning curve and a great way to meet like minded people.

As to the second question, my initial impression was to say that a show isn't necessary, but after thinking about it, I'm not quite sure. A koi show probably represents the single best avenue for koi appreciation and education. Isn't that what a koi club is all about?

Let me express this, trying to get more people to sign up for new membership to any koi club is not that easy as people think.... During formation of the Northern California Koi club, it took me more than 5 months to have 30 members signed up for the membership. And it is much harder in trying to search for people, who willing to lead and serve the club. There was time that I was thnking about dropping out. But seems like my koi spirit is strong enough to make me moving on and made it thru.

There are a lot of work to have people sign up for new membership. It is not just trying to hire someone to work for a company. It is much more than an art to success. Specially for ZNA because the membership fee is much higher than other koi club...I hope someday I will have a chance to share the exprience about formation of a Koi club.

age vs beauty

Dinh,

It's surprising when you find out the age of some posters. Don, I must say, I didn't ASSUME you were a tad bit older than me! Amazing how we picture people when talking on the phone or in forums and then the expectations we have prior to meeting that person. When you do finally get to meet, sometimes we are totally surprised. Just goes to show how that word ASS/U/ME comes back to bite us!

In Kari's case, age and beauty don't mix. Kari is not that old Dinh. I hope she took your post in stride and wasn't offended. I know you didn't mean it the way it sounded!???
