shiroji become yellow

hi guys...

i have a problem...most of my fish with shiroji becoming yellow, specially in the head area...the head of my kohaku becoming yellow and also the cheek area...and my platinum ogon and matsuba also becoming yellow in the head area...
my question is :
- is it because of the water condition ?
- or is it because of lack of sun ??

all the fishes are behaving normally, eat normal, swim normal...it semms like they are healthy..

can you guys help me..

thank you

if you are feeding the koi with color enhancing foods with ingredients containing spirulina, this may contribute to the yellowing of their skin.

Kusuma,
Koi Clay and soft water can help the shiroji a lot.

If it is happening to all of them at the same time then look at the water/food. But also keep in mind this can just happen as a fish ages. How old are these koi?

Assuming water is ok, this is my question as well. Color enhanced foods can cause this easily. It usually show up in the face and "cheeks" first. The good news is that if you stop feeding color foods, it usually clears up over time.

What are you feeding? Spirulina may not be the only culprit. Shrimp, Krill, some veggies, etc can also be considered enhancers.
