Luke, I m sorry but you will have to story me about the CFKS. I have no inkling.

Russel, Sorry mate, I am afraid no pictures yet. It seems everyone is keeping his candidate a secret. Dont worry though, we are hiring a photographer to take the pics and I will post them to share.

The response to the show has been overwhelming. Of the 105 tanks that we have allocated, only 32 tanks are left for bookings.

The battle for the Grand Champion has began. We hear kois of 84,87,85cm coming ..... and people are flying off to Japan to scout for more and better kois to do battle!!. Stay tune.

Now, that is what I'd call a strong competitive spirit...competing to find a GC in Japan and get it to the show in top condition. I'm anxious to see the entries.

Thumbs up

Mike, Like you I hope the big boys wont disappoint us but then again how deep our guys are willing to dig into their hip pockets, I really dont know.

John, We just received confirmatiom from ZNA Japan that 2 judges will help us. The Head Judge is Mr Keiichi Iwahashi (ZNA Certified Judge, ZNA Vice- Chairman) The other Judge is Mr Yasuo Suzuki (ZNA Asst Certified Judge, ZNA Tokyo Chapter)

We also have 3 Judges form the Singapore Koi Club. In all we should expect 8 Judges. This Should allow us to have at least 4 Judging teams.

The judges who survives the judging at our show must be given the highest salutations for their fitness. As the kois of various sizes and varities are in the onwers respective tanks, the Judging team have to walk all over the place.

Hi Folks,

We had a fantastic show with a total of 111 tanks and 788 koi entries. 5 didnt make it due to complications related to transportation, packing and or extreme stress. Quite unfortunate bcos those were really good kois and capable of winning prizes.

Despite not having any media promotions of the event, the hobbyist and public did come in good numbers. This year the udges had a difficult time and were very careful in their judging bcos the quality of kois were rather high and the quite evenly matched. The show is British style ala Malaysian. We had 4 teams of Judges. The judging started at 7:30am and finished at 4:00pm! In previous shows we finished at 1:30 pm.

The selection and judging for the GC had a bit of a debate going with the Judges. Some Judges felt that a 75 cm Sakai Kohaku has superb quality and should be a serious contender for the GC. The eventual GC 88 cm although had the size and impeccable quality is blemished with hi on its pectoral fin and that should be a demerit. The other judges argued that the 75 cm Kohaku (the eventual Mature Champion) although superb is too small. Eventually after much intense debate, the smaller koi was knocked off the list. Who says Japanese judges always have their way….

The Final result the Kohaku was announced GC, Showa 85 cm- Runner up and Sanke- 85 cm 2nd Runners up. The Showa was last year,s Runner-up. The Big Sanke is a super koi but on that day, it looked very stressed; the Shiroji was affected and luster lacking.

The GC was purchased from Japan after much persuasion to the owner and was the 2n Runner up in the recent Shinkokai All Japan Combined show. The new owner paid very big bucks.

I am a little lazy and instead of uploading the pictures, I hope you don’t mind visiting this link. The Title of the thread was mistakenly typed as 4th koi show. It shud be 6th koi show. Hope you will enjoy the pictures.
