How does the sun affect your pond?

How do you deal with the suns rays, and how much sun do you get when it is sunny?

I am planting trees around the west-northwest side of the pond...deciduous trees...fast growing deciduous trees...with Mulberries in them.
I know I know...I'll deal with the leaves...but here in FLORIDA the sun is an enemy more than leaves.
Leaves = shade. And in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Shade is the thing I covet. Last year I stayed in the low 80's at mid-level.
On the East/Northeast side I have some nice Oaks.

during the summer months, my pond receive sunlight around 4 hrs every day. other than algae (which is not much of a problem), everything seems to be ok. fish seemed to be happy during sunlight period.

This is the three weeks of the year when one group of my koi ponds get a little scattered sun. One of these ponds even has a green tint! [Note: I'm easily entertained] The area where these ponds are is dominated/owned by a huge monkey pod tree. All the leaves and pods (Fabaceae, legume family) have finally fallen and the new leaves have not yet covered the canopy. By May, it will be dark again.

To my way of thinking, the more natural productivity (pond biota) there is, the better koi look and grow. I'm sure these ponds would benefit from more sun. I like full blazing sun for fry and juveniles and about 50% shade for tosai and older.

I have some tree around the pond, but during the 4 hotest hours of the day the pond is in the full sunlight. I have the impression that the fish are going deeper in the pond during this 4 hours. So, I'm trying to find some net to cover part of the pond but that will allow me to see my koļ throught from the terasse and the first floor.
Does some of you have any pict ?
Thanks Marco
