With the ABAKS passing, just wanted to know.....

With the ABAKS passing, just wanted to know what those have learned by showing at the show. I learned that the competition has gotten better and better. Plus alot of different faces...

Antonio,
I learned how to party .
Seriously I enjoyed this show soooo much. The atmosphere was so energized at this show. The friendships, the team work shown by all those who worked so hard to make this show a success. The participants and the spectators were so happy for there fellow competitors wins, that is what a show is all about. There was no petty BS going on, over oh this person or that person. It was just a great fun filled weekend, without all the koi politics. It made me realize that it is possible to be in this hobby, with out all the excess baggage of greed, envy, jealousy. That the koi are what it is all about.

I learned that everyone can come together for a common cause. Shoot, even saw Auntiesue from KoiPhen taking down tanks...Didn't trip everyone was helping out. I loved it.

Hey guys, I learned a lot from a lot of people. I was surprised to meet the legend Duke, and had a very sharing and friendly conversation about koi with him. Now I haven't seen outstanding koi in the flesh, but I know there were some beautiful fish in the competition. I spent about an hour or more staring at each tank on Sunday, admiring and studying the color now at this size, what if the body changes or stretches. What if that certain speck of sumi comes up to balance the pattern and how long will it take at this larger size? How to keep small fish from loosing it's bloom by growing it slowly. Which was helpful info because I'm still in the small fry category. I usually have Erwin and Antoino telling me what's happening or what's what. But they were too busy most of the time to hang out with me Party, the next show! We'll learn how to party together!

Still got a long way to go, gonna walk the Earth like Kane in Kung Fu!

I love the way you put it!! For us it really meant a lot. Hopefully one day we will be able to have a show in Hawaii. Vernon winning baby champion will show the other members that anyone has a chance to win.....and it doesn't always have to be how much you paid for the fish.....sometimes it's the participation and experience that counts. Like Nancy says ...to just be happy for all who wins gives you such a special feeling of sharing. I loved seeing old friends and meeting the new!!! It was fun indeed!
