Unique new koi !!

Take a look at my new 8" Ginrin Goromo. I definitely thought it was unique...its ginrin scales really have a glow. It has a tear in one fin...should heal fine. I've never seen one like it..so when I saw it, I jumped all over it. The other fish is my new 10" goshiki. Nothing unique about it..but it has a nice kohaku pattern. Opinions are welcome...especially on the goromo..I want to know if anyone has seen one like it before???
They will be in quarantine for several weeks...learned my lessons the hard way!!

Difficult to evaluate ginrin in a photo, but there is certainly a lot of shimmer and fairly thickly distributed. I think you'll find the pattern rather sparse as the fish grows. The sparkle of ginrin will mitigate this to an extent. In any event, a novel addition to your menagerie! If the GR holds, I think you can enjoy him for a long time.

Thanks mike...just thought he was different. Maybe put him in a ginrin B class and see what happens. I wish the pattern had a little more...but since it is not a type I see often, I wasn't going to think too long about it. Any comments on the goshiki...thought I had a winner there?!?! I was looking for a nice kohaku pattern, and I think I found it.

Your new Gin Rin Goromo, is a good fish to help train your eye. In time I think you will see and understand the changes it will go through. I think as it grows it will grow out of the little pattern it has. Enjoy it and learn form it. This hobby is a never ending learning and humbling experiance.
