Does a spot of ginrin make a fish a ginrin?

Thats just an example of what my question is. If a fish has a small dot of something like that is it classed that way PERIOD?

most shows classify GR as 3 rows each side. Singular scales do not apply. Back in the good olde daz of initial motsunosuke heavy fukerin scales (much like GR )there were many a go rounds as to what made a GR a GR ( and it wan't fuketin scales either!) LOL

If the speck is small, it is a "shimi". The Kohaku is still a Kohaku... but it has a problem. If the speck is larger or goes deeply into the skin, then it crosses the line and becomes a poor sanke. In either event, not the best example of a show fish, but there have been times when a small shimi has been overlooked or given little weight by the judges when the koi is otherwise a fine animal.

Wink

that is a very bad sign for a koi to have! That koi probably won't make it.

You should immediately ship any koi to me with that symptom. I'll volunteer to take care of them
