Question Whazzit?

Here's another ochiba I ran across while auction hunting. Well, at least it is called an ochiba in the listing:

Besides appearing metallic, it has matsuba type netting instead of the asagi/'goi type. Could this be some type of goshiki, or yet another variation of ochiba? Size is 13" (trout-like conformation--any comments?)

Arthur says,

Went to see Arthur today at Oregon/Sunset koi. My ochiba and others seem to be getting too much sun which is where my thoughts were going.

One of the ochibas is all grouper colored on the top but not the bottom. I set up the supports for a shade in the front today and will do the back tomorrow.

Both ponds get brutal sunshine all day long. Usually the sun doesn't come until later in the summer when the lilys are all up and there is a lot of cover on the water. Not this year. It has been really sunny for a couple weeks. It is finally raining now.

I have a doitsu hariwake that has been hiding in the plants on the side of the pond. This fish has more sense than the rest. She is getting sunburned.

Ponding is living and learning but darn it sucks when the learning affects the health and comfort of the fish.

Question Hmmmm......

I suppose that might be what's going on with mine too, but like yourself I've got lots of shade from waterlillies too, so call me confused . (It's much nicer than some of the other words I've been called ) I'm getting ready to do more work on the pond expansion/deepening, so maybe when I get done the extra depth and waterfall shade will help them out. It'll be interesting to find out.

Smile Sneak Peeker

Drop in and Drop right back out again huh? When you get back on line prepare to be picked on mercilessly , but only because you're so cute when we make you blush .
