sorry to take so long to get these posted (from an event held at Eastern Nishikigoi several weeks ago), but my camera died. That's also why there are so few pix of the koi. Sorry.

As for the four judging contests which were held, let's just say I did better at the free buffet.

Yes, but I'm prejudiced -- I just love buying Sakuma tosai from ENKOI.

Bought a tosai showa from the Apr 2005 shipment. Bought 3 tosai (kohaku, showa, GR showa) from the Oct 2006 shipment. Bought 2 tosai kohaku from the Feb 2006 shipment.

My wife finally agreed to let me go to this event, but she made me leave all my $ and plastic at home.

Obviously I'm not qualified to say what these tosai are going to look like at 3, 5, or 7 years. But they (and some others I've seen) have sure been cleaning up on the show circuit in the junior sizes.

Only time will tell whether they're strictly "for the show" or whether they're also "for the future."

Don, was Sakuma's seminar specific to his tategoi or tategoi in general.
