Asagi Coloration

I was going to e-mail Dick with this question but thought maybe some one else on this forum might learn also.

Dick, what can I do to intentsify the orange on my asagi? Make it more red and brilliant. It looks kind of dull orange.
Water parementers? I know asagi's like soft water. Once my PH issues are stablized I intend on keeping my GH and KH 125 to 150 PPM. This is about right for asagi's isn't it.
What kind of food?
If I try and intentsify the red will this darken the blue? On the asagi I have now I would like to lighten the blue, but I bet this would be oppisite of increasing the red.
Thoughts and ideas please.

here's my take on red....it's a genetic gift. they either have it or they don't. Red is easily promoted to overrun it's placement for show criteria by feeding color enhancing food. So not really a good idea to use shrimp meal or spirulina. The best to use if you must is carotene...

asagi's blue is best encouraged with 7.2-7.6 PH, and kh-gh no more than 125...80 or 90 is optimum but only with minimum stocking.

here again genetics play a part for blue coloration as color variations such as narumi is lightest followed by konjo/gunjo

keeping koi with special needs can be a challenge but it's all part of the learning curve. people who like hariwake, midori also have to work at getting the water right!

Dick-

If you have a similar guideline for the water in which to keep hariwake and Midori could you post them?
