Not yet posted on their website . . .

but Ken Tran (@ Eastern Nishikigoi) got in 11 boxes of gosanke from Dainichi and Ueno on Wednesday afternoon. Seems they had more overwintered tosai than they had mudponds to put 'em in -- and Ken must have gotten them at very reasonable prices (judging by his).

Anyways, I was disappointed by the Ueno. Maybe Burt Ballou or Nancy can expound on them?

I was not disappointed in the Dianichi, however, and picked up two of his showas yesterday. Both are stunning: One is traditional (10") and one is kindai (12"). They're in a salt bath now and will clear his QT mid June.

If they're not covered up yet you might still be able to snag a good one! Otherwise, you're gonna have to wait three weeks to pick.

Dinh . . .

Yeah, right.

I'd guess there were about 150 pieces in the 11 boxes. Including my two, I think only 5 or 6 koi had been "taken" as of yesterday afternoon. So you, my good friend, have many, many fine koi left to choose from. Just hop on down.

As for pix, here you go. (This is from a 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" polaroid Ken took)

LOL... Burt beat me, he got 1st pick that little stinker picked the best Showa while I was answering the phone.. But that is cool I got to pick out 2 nice Showa's for Frank and myself, But being the kind hearted persons that we are, gave Don the opportunity to select either of ours. So glad he did not take Frank up on the offer.

Don
I finally got a chance to see your two Showa's very nice fish for the future. I am really impressed your eye has come along way, in the last year. Kudos to you

Ready . . . set . . . pix!

After 4 weeks of QT @ ENKOI (and 4 more weeks of same here), the Dainichi koi were finally photographed and transferred to our pond.

You'll notice I also picked up a sanke from the same batch. I found myself noticing it when I'd go check on the two showas -- so on Take 'em Home Day I decided to add it to the haul. LOL

I'm looking forward to learning from these three koi. Heck, I've learned a few things already!

Feel free to comment; they weren't at all expensive and you won't hurt my feelings.

Part One:

Those are three very nice Koi Don, I think they will do well as a learning tool. Congratulations on getting them into your pond.
