Brian, I'm glad to hear your health has returned to you. It's something that we tend to take for granted....and shouldn't. thank you for your heartfelt explaination of things ...it shows the integrity from which you have built your friendships. Change is life and life is change....kinda like the military many that has to retreat....not their first thought...but one that let's them fight again another day. I'm happy to hear you'll keep fighting...like Musashi....as you lead
this charge you'll see there will be the majority of us right behind you.....

Passion makes making choices difficult!

When you really love what you do, it is hard to give it up. I think balance is important and if it is a constant struggle to get the quality and service without frustration and hardship, then a hard choice has to be made. I think that if the same quality of information and service is put into a magazine section on the website, most everyone will enjoy it and support it. I know I will.

Here's to a future for Koi-Bito

I've been subscribing since the start and I'd only just got round to paying my renewal. Am I cross........well no.......I consider Brian undervalued his product from the start, bearing in mind the small percentage of koi keepers that are likely customers. So by my way of thinking we're probably not nearly even quits.
Brian's mag is by far the most enjoyable and interesting Koi magasine ever produced and it's quality was second to none.
I am saddened at the position he has found himself in. I'm sure he more than anyone has done the maths and looked at the marketplace.
I just wish I was Bill Gates and I'd bankroll him for free.
Certainly I'd have paid the annual fee even if it was only for 2-3 issues max per year, I don't know whether this would have made the difference but I'd like to think that there a way of pulling things back even if it were only for one or two special issues a year for double the price.

The Koi world is a poorer place at the moment for this.

Best of Luck Brian

It's good to know your health is back online. Sorry to hear about the struggles, both financially and healthwise. Hopefully we can all work together to make the online version and forum a happy and profitable experience for you.

I revel at the prospect of the paperless society in general and am delighted the magazine will be converted to an electronic version. Get your filing system together, make your backup copies, and cast off your bondage to stacks of dusty old paper. I am willing to pay the same amount for the electronic version and am sad that others feel that it somehow has less value. The value is in the information, not the paper and ink. If all were willing to pay for the information in this new format, then Brian would have the flexibility and resources to make it even better.

This is a very good point. The quality of the information is most important. I agree with Steve on all counts.

Here ya go guys...how it really is gonna be.....

Subscriptions for the E-magazine AIN'T gonna happen because the revenue will be generated by ads. And ads are paid in realtion to veiwership.
However, all of you that want to send Brian money are good human beings.....No telliong what the content would be if many of you with some loose pocket change sent it to brian so he could go beyond the money generated by the ads...it would free him up to do MORE.
making E-people pay would provide oncome from a relative few. People are not used to paying for information off of the 'net. Retailers ARE used to paying for veiwers.
If his content is the best and he is smart and timely release articles at a continuous pace then his site will become many koi keeper's homepage.
And with great content and loyal veiwers more retailers will WANT to advertise on his E-magazine.
A valued Loyal veiwer is what will pay the bills.

Brian,
Thank you so much for your update. I am very happy to hear that you are on the mend and doing so much better. Please know that you have my full support in whatever you determine to works best for you in the long run. Because your magazine content is well worth the wait and to whatever format you decide works best for you. Also, because you are a true koi kichi and have done so much to help Project KHV and the koi community in general.
