then why do you own computers..or go to any koi sites...having Jolie go to the toilet with you for the umpteenth hundred times has got to be better than Rosie going that wonderful first time...you don't need rosie

For a bright guy you CAN be thick at times--- the Rinko E-version is a sliver of the old print material. Secondly, the style of the two are like night and day. Both were always promotional pieces for the Breeders but the old one actually gave you interviews about the breeder and his thoughts about all sorts of things- koi in general, his philosophy regarding koi rearing breeding and raising, his personal ambitions etc.
The email version is pure commercial and its as though the breeder is 'prepared' to provide expected answers for promotional purposes only? It is just much more shallow in information and depth. JR

Do we have to follow standards set by Rinko e-version? Brian needs to provide more information.

I much prefer my old Rinkos to the E-Rinko, but I still get it. I've let my subscription lapse a couple of times, but eventually re-newed just for the window on what is occurring in the hobby, even if the glass is distorted.

....An electronic Koi-Bito can be every bit as good as the print version as far as the non-photographic content and it can be printed so one can read where they please. My personal preference is pondside in the early morning when the air is cool, the birds are singing and the fish are searching for an overlooked pellet. Can't take the monitor out there, but a print-out works. The real limitation is with the photographic content. Unless the photo files are very large, and you invest in a photograph-quality color printer and proper paper, there is no way to get the quality of a print magazine. I always enjoy studying the show pictorials, but with E-Rinko, they are of little interest because of that limitation ... and a verbal description of an awesome koi is not much without a crisp photo. The selection of content with a recognition of the medium's limitations will be important.

Ok . it seems that err ummm--- my usernames of JR, James P and JamesPR are all locked out of koibito? So I'd like to introduce myself- johnsmith!

I promise to play nice. Just a bit of disaapointment venting I guess. So I will go along to get along.
I encourage everyone to hang in and see how things go
And for the record I do order the Rinko email version once a year or so. And I usually find a few bits of info to add to my knowledge base.
I have to admit however that it is just not as deep in information as the old printed form and that is disappointing.
