Our New Pond from holland

hello, my name is math,
I'm from holland, got this link from somebody at http://www.koieagle.nl
I would like to show our pond here,

we have a pond with 4500 liters water but we are rebuilding it to a pond with 17000 liters and one with 12000 liters, the last one should be plants only and the big one for our koi,

to see it you can click down below

Anyway, welcome to the board.

Sounds like a great project and allot of work! MOre water is always better for koi. You will see the difference in the way the fish react in 17,000 liters as compared to 4,000! The fish will thank you believe me! How deep are you planning on making it?

Just don't connect the plant pond and the koi pond to each other, please! Plants and koi should be keep completely separate in my opinion. This goes for the water as well!

Where do you live in Holland Math?

from its layout, it's a forum and worst of all it has pop-up ads. it's misleading!!

Ok I found the proper link. Quite confusing layout.

I think the design is a mistake. Plant filters are not the way to go IMO. I think the bottom drains to one side is a bad choice as well. I assume you will have a sloping bottom with the drains in the deepest part. It doesn't work that way I'm afraid and you will end up with a slope covered in shite that can't/doesn't get to the drains. I'm sure you have put alot of thought into this but I'm afraid the ideas you have had are all a bit far down the learning curve. Sorry, I know you want to do it right but this isn't the way

the website is layout as a forum, but I don't mean to use as a forum, the idea is to show my own pond and give everyone else the chance to show theirs, you have to register to show your pond so that there is always a name to it,

the pop-ups come because its a free domain .tk. it is free because the owners advertise this way. you can blok the pop-ups, my site will stay the same

b scott, we live in venlo, that is in the south-east of holland near the german border

our plant pond is seperated from the koi pond, but the water is the same
the water from the skimmer goes to the plant pond and then a pump pumps it back to the koi pond,

the bottom drains goes to a seperated filter right back in the koi pond

this way I have two seperated ways to clean my water

I hope that some of the people here will show their ponds on my site, it's fun to have a few different ponds on the site

excuse me if my english isn't very good

thanks for all the reactions
