Exclamation JR and JG: Talk about a small world...

JG: During my 1973 training we stayed at the Holiday Inn in King of Prussia... Worked for a division of AMP Inc. in Paoli PA...

JR: Visited my cousin who worked for Smith Klein in Philly... Went to visit his home in Cherry Hills, NJ, as we were driving to his home, he told me that it was in an exlusive subdivision, no sooner had he said that, the news caster on the radio announce that a Mafioso Chieftain was found murdered in his car trunk in Cherry Hills... How exclusive can you get...

Do you think Jimmy H, might be in the park land just outside your gate

Aloha! Mike

Getting back to the topic of growth rates...
I think you might be looking at only part of the picture when you compare the growth rates of the two ponds. While stocking rates and water quality both have an important effect on the growth of koi they are not the only factors involved. Other things you might take into account are the amount of water changes, quality of the water source, type and amount of feed, temperature of the water and the stability thereof. Last but not least there is the genetic growth potential of the fish. The fact that the water is green while yours is clear and his fish are the same age is but a fraction of the picture.

I must say that even ten fish in a 1500 gallon pond seems a bit excessive to me. I can't imagine 20 in that amount of water. I have 5 fish ranging from 18" to 15" in 3500 gallons and often wonder if I should loose a fish or two
