not if you buy within the country. When Mat shipped me my Asagi, I just ran up to the airport and picked him up.....

From Sakai-san, a lot of paperwork, import license, patience as it goes thru customs and fish and game....serious stuff!

Once your favorite dealer gets em in from japan, your home free between them and you...saince 911 it's become quite the hassle to be recognized as able to bring them in from overseas....

Conformation is alot better.

As for shipping all you need to do is go to the airport and pick them up. Here is a tip. Find out before you get there where you need to be. Delta Dash at Dulles has changed locations 4 times in the last year and half.

If the sumi in the pecs retracts to form nice motoguro, that Gin Rin Showa is going to be dynamite. A dramatic little fish. Congrats.

Jim they're looking pretty daggone good! Gotta little more "heft" on them than at the show - a little time at "Spa Tonio" must have agreed with them.

So are these guys home for good, or are they pursuing more "Baby Champ" titles this summer?

No more shows to go to. If there was they would be there but there aren't.

These fish were pretty interesting to learn from:

Sakuma Gin Rin Showa got more sumi on the face from before and the conformation is coming along really good.

Sakuma Showa didnt get more sumi but girth has increased and conformation to.

Ogawa Kohak X conformation has increased too, but bloodline is known to grow slower.

These fish have been fed on Sweet Potato pellets during the winter months here since the rainy season stretched til May. The fish have maintained their shiroji very well. The one thing I can suggest is to feed the fish to maintain quality and not to focus on just growing the fish out.

I am happy to see the fish made it fine.

Oh yeah, the other new Showa is from a very famous breeder Sekiguchi. Alot of sumi will come up later, also known as Kobayashi bloodline.

Cool! Make sure they don't have flying fish in their lineage like the one I picked out.
