Thank you Brian for letting me hang around here - not everyone will do that it seems.

I registered with a new koi forum the other day. It looked like a giggly and shallow sort of place with a lot of ooohin' and aaahin' (sp?) going on, but I joined on the advice of a trusted friend. I was banned before ever making the first post. Probably better that way.

Hoppy,
you're a damn good koi keeper and a straight up guy. I can only think of one site that doesn't want any honesty.

i can't believe you went back THERE...lol

FYI they had a 'puter crash and the 20+ that signed up that day got zeroed out -- no one was banned, so you might want to try it again.

And Luke, no, it's not that place!

What happened to the guy who is going to costa rica to a nice pond farm? He just seems to have evaporated or changed nics or something.

I grew up in Corpus Christi in a catholic family of seven. On rare occasions, our parents would take us all out to dinner to a little seat-yourself, paper-napkin place on the edge of town which was reputed to have the best fried chicken in Texas. Now, fried food is taboo in our house and the older I get the more I think about how good it tasted at the Chicken Shack. Maybe that's the attraction.

The nice lady e-mailed me to say that my registration was lost; so maybe my reputation did not precede me after all.

No Steve, it wasn't you. They had a hiccup with the server. I had my first few posts go poof. But it was an honest mistake poof.

So far a pretty good board, less tampering and more koi talk.

But yes, I would too like to thank Brian for this board. It's the one I always check first and last, and have learned the most from.

I haven't subscribed yet, mostly because the mag did seem to be in some sort of transition when I joined, however let me say that if this site becomes subscription I will gladly pay for what I think is the best board for koi on the net!

I wish Brian and his family the best, and great sucess on any and all future ventures!
