melon mahem

Pics of test groups first encounter with melon
Some of the sumi is starting to rise on a few of the Utsuris. Next three weeks should prove interesting for both shiro utsuri and sanke fry.

Thumbs up Kuuuul

Looks like your new kids on the block are taking after their older siblings when it comes to watermelon . There looks to be a lot of potential in the group. Good Sumi rising early, and the Kohak's look nice too. One thing is certain, they all have healthy appetites

So hwo is that for their health, cool new way to think about feeding. I wonder how they would like and respond to mangos, bananas, oranges, grapefruit, and plantain??? Anyone ever try any of those or have any clue?

Mine love a nice peeled mango or papaya - especially the second day after it gets good and mushy with fuzzy stuff growing on it.

Wink It's all a matter of taste

Mine love oranges and tear them up in a flash, but don't get excited about melon at all , go figure. It makes me wonder if water parameters (kh, gh especially) may influence dietary preferences. I wish they did like watermelon. Even though it isn't all that great nutritionally I would think it would be good for color development.

I don't know about melon, but mangos are loaded with vitamins e, c, k,and carotene.
