Some from SU pond and started culling on second spawn today as well. Here are a hanfull that made the cut........this time. Mostly Sanke babies.

Hope springs eternal! What Fun....Saw 3 that have a chance to cut the mustard!

Got pictures of my hand selected kohaku and sanke from Mat at quality koi before they hit the mud ponds a coupla weeks ago. like my chances with the sanke....you realize that breed is the hardest to produce! good luck.....

I have pulled my hair out over the years with young sanke hopefuls.

Send me those pics when u have time Dick. I would like to study them.

The pics I have of the koi are when they were first selected at 8 inches they look a lot different by then , then they do at this Stage.......At this stage for sanke your looking at a mostly orange with heavy black dots over the head and shoulders. The ones that look like kohaku now with tiny black dots don't turn out. A good example is the 4th photo down in the center the bigger baby with heavy orange and black. the black consolodates and the orange emerges with a
beni pattern.

now that Mat is a bonafided advertiser if i can find someone willing to post, I'll forward the pics of the two in the mud now. volunteers?

Posting pictures of Dick's kohaku & sanke from Matt at Quality Koi.

1st picture of the koi together is from last October, when the fish were about 8" long.

I struggle with how the sashi is goig to play out on the Sanke. Maybe ALWAYS a future fish.
