Green Algae issues any suggestions?

hi

where the water flows down my waterfall ornament from the filter, green algae problems always build up within a week. I have tried scrubbing there which gets rid of it all but only for a week.

Is this problem uncontrollable due to the bacteria in the water that flows down?

Is there something that can be done/used to get rid of the algae permanently?

Thanks

The reason algae will build up on waterfalls is that there is much more oxygen there. The best way to control algae is to control waste. Since you are in England you should find a Kusuri dealer. They have Eco-Boost and Eco-Pure. We bring it into the States and it really works. One of our buyers is a big dealer in Southern California. He has a pond servicing department and they handle hundreds of ponds every month. Adding these products to there servicing has made there work much easier.

Hi

Take some course salt. Shut the system down so that there is no circulation. Throw the salt granules onto the algae on the water fall. Leave the salt in the algae for a few hours. Start up the system.

The concentrated salt will kill the algae when left in contact with it for a few hours.

Should work very well. It did for me here in South Africa where my pond and stream are in full sun all day.

Let us know what you do and the results.

Regards,
Chris
