Lost scale recovery

Some of you may remember last fall as I was photographing my Isawa Kohaku in preparation for a show, she jumped and lost a scale on her back. I am happy to say the scale has grown back perfectly aligned and is starting to take on beni. With any luck in another year you will not be able to notice it happened.

Henry,

I am glad to hear your good news, that is a gorgeous Kohaku and it would be a shame for it to be damaged permanently. Congratulations.

Big change in the quality. No signs of scale loss, like the way the conformation has come up. What is the size of the kohak now?

Thumbs up Happy Days

Like Russell said, too nice a Kohak to see damaged permanently and it does look to be healing to perfection. Any special treatments you'd care to share or did you just let good water and time heal all wounds?

She is now 68cm at yonsai. I am assuming by the end of the summer (gosai) she will be between 70 and 72 cm. I got her 2.5 years ago at 43cm (see my avatar to the left). I had always heard that the Matsunosuke line stayed fairly thin until they are 5 or 6. Finally, this summer she is starting to put on some girth. She has always had a powerful body structure. Her peduncle is as big around as my forearm.
