KikoMania

You Too ? My wife saw a Benikikokuryu at the OKC Koi Show that she immediately became infatuated with. There must be something contagious about them. (either that or an optic nerve reaction causing a flashback to a really GOOD trip )
Yours looks very interesting. Orca is a great name for it with that pattern. Now all you have to do is grow it to JUMBO status so he can play a stunt double in the movies

It's definitely something with this type of koi. In my avatar I have my beni kikokuryu from igarashi. Cannot resist this type of koi...really catches the eye immediately, and doesn't let go.

Papa: If you saw a jumbo Kikokuryu, you'd be wanting to keep it modestly sized.

why? Do they turn into ugggo's?? I had a 22" kumoryu years ago that looked nice. Died when my heater shorted ...but looked nice until then.

They usually don't age well. There is one kumonyru at charlotte each year that actually is a nice jumbo. The pattern on the fish posted is not what I would want, I would look more for shusui type markings.

Papa Bear,

Where is the best place to buy koi in Oklahoma? I've tried CrossTimbers, Real McKoi and some of the smaller places. Haven't been to the one in Shawnee. Thanks,

Minh
