What summer food are you using?

What summer food are you using? For me I am using Sweet Potato, Hi-Silk and my own home made paste. What are you using?

We are feeding Saki Hikari Growth mixed with Ogata Wheatgerm. Also feeding Izeki paste food 2 to 3 times per week(if time allows). Will start feeding Ogata silkpower by next month. Sure glad I live in SoCal instead of Norcal.. Water nice and warm here.

Nancy

"Most" folks in NorCal have temps that do rival SoCal. My current water temps is 80.3 I'm feeding Saki-Hikari All Season/Ogata Wheat Germ in the afternoon/evening and I'm trying the new O.S. I. in the mornings. Seems to be working well.

Toni:

Too Lazy to make foods so use the KISS principle, Yokozuna during summer, Nobori during rest of year... Getting good growth and color... with the exception of of couple of jumpers, which were mutts anyway, haven't lost any koi since 2002... Of course, now that I've said that, will probably go out to the pond and see all the koi doing the back stroke....

Aloha! Mike

I'm using a mystery food. usually I have Blackwater creek stuff cuz joe ain't stupid.
but the mill sent him a bunch of bags with his name on the outside and someone else's koifood on the inside.
He opened a bag to check it out and knew right away. heck even i could tell. It is lighter in color and smells more like vegetable matter.
The Koi like it, the vortex chamber doesn't look much different in volume (just a little lighter), but this has been getting worse and worse. I didn't feed them much one day and it was less the next day. but since the koi look good I keep tossing at them...till I get back to Joe's.

Hey Luke

It looks like your algae crop likes it too . You need to find a market for that stuff.

My temps in the 68-72 range outdoors. I heat only the inside pond. feeding Hikari saki growth and mixture of quality koi nigata mix. have really been impressed with
lower waste and good growth. asagi's love it!

All my new babies( go sanke) in the growing situations are getting 100% food from Quality koi. I checked on my showa last weekend and typical matsunosuke
style...is really getting long.

Today's modern high quality foods are pretty good. I always like to mix foods for the same reason I don't have only one style of filters. think the variety/mixture is a good thing.

Ah, Dick, that sounds such a pleasant temperature. The pond was over 81F at 7am this morning. And, the water is looking a bit green. But, I've got a ways to go to catch up with Luke.
