9th "Annual " young fish show

if my memory serves me, two years ago it was moved up to 20 inches and then back down. The show is very small....maybe around 100 fish...this year based on hunches I'd say it'll down to some 60 fish. Many are reluctant to show because of cross contamination fears

it's very late but thougfht I'd mention that I benched 93 koi for thr show. expect just one more hobbyist to brink fish tommorrow before the judging so we will have pretty close to 100 koi. That's not bad for this show, GC is gonna be tuff choices as many good koi. Matt from quality koi has a very nice sanke I'll bet will be in the heat but sumi has not firmed up yet so it may ne premature. Very nice assortment of koi varieties...very heavy with kohaku!

It what could be the last young fish show for Puget sound Koi club, the top 3 places were taken by Debbie Tibbets. Kohaku size 5 GR, RGC kohaku size 3,Best in size 5 KUMONRYU.

Dan and Sharon Olson took Judges award with their Gin Showa, and tategoi award for their sanke from Matt at Quality Koi.

About 96-97 koi in all. great job ny larry and Pat Christenson. The host of the show Sue squires at hoshi koi had her brother cook a gormet lunch on the grill for the judges. Schrimp coctail served in a bowl made of ice and decorated with frozen into the bowl fress blossums. Stuffed mushrooms,
Grilled/smoked salmon and scallops and served with iced wine that had dry ice dripeed with water so it smoked elegantly. Was incredible effort by Sue's gormet chief brother Bob....

and now i'm off to the banquet. Sorry I was so busy benching and wrangling no time to take photos....

with apologies for the typos and also for the slip on debbie's last name, not tibbets but fitzgerald! haste makes waste.....the banquet was fun, the awards were very nice....went very smooth. Lots of encouragement to make next years' show.
