Well... The reason I said "may" is that it depends on how the body expands as it grows. What you see is what you will have. But, if this is a female and the body widens as bulk is gained, the appearance will be that the white has expanded and the Hi has risen onto the back. If the Hi turns out to be "elastic", expanding with additional bulk, the effect will not be so much different from what you see now. Enjoy watching in the years ahead.

Hmmm...that doesn't look worded right, so I hope that you understand what I'm asking. I know it won't lengthen down the tail-tube and give the fish a new and improved odome. But will it lengthen in proportion to the koi's size?

As the Kohaku grows, the scales will become larger. The scales that have Hi on them would increase in size, so yes, it will lengthen in proportion to the Koi's size.

I got her from her breeder, Richard Rombold in Fresno, California, known as Fishmaker on eBay, though I bought it directly from him and not at auction--he hand picked what I had told him I was looking for and delivered beyond my expectations.

I can't help it, Tonio. I am amazed by his koi.

Well to each is his own, or in your case her own where you buy your fish....I would highly suggest you make it to the Sac show either showing or not showing....

Here's an update pic of "Zen" now that she's out in the pond:

The fish on the bottom is one of the sarrassas I bred.

(Eventually I'll get the hang of this new camera and get better clarity and color. The whites are tending towards pink in the pic but they are actually enamel white in person.)

Thumbs up Very Nice

Looks even better in your pond . It will be interesting to see what the pattern does as the Koi matures. Will it maintain that slow "S" curve, or will it become more of a traditional inazuma lightning bolt? My guess is that it will keep the smooth lines it has now.

I hope she keeps her smooth pattern, there is a certain grace about it. Hard to call it inazuma because it isn't a jagged electified pattern--more snakelike in my opinion. Maybe it should be called sunekugami?
