Looking for a nice Kohaku Tancho

As the title says. I'm looking for a nice Kohaku Tancho. I'm looking at adding it when my baby is born on Oct. 5th. I want to ad a Koi and plant a tre when she's born.

Sounds like you've been reading some books about culture in other lands and have decided to follow suit...what kind of tree are you looking to plant? if no idea I might suggest a japanese red pine. In japanese gardens they signify the feminine side of longivity. My daughter's first fish that she asked me to get for her was tancho kohaku....she called him Beni Botan ( the red button )
My son's first was a GR hikari Moyo called "sparky"....I wish you many happy moments and memories with your new borne

Thumbs up Sounds like an EXCELLENT idea

You might want to take a trip to Fresno and visit Marie's buddy . If his Tancho's look like the rest of his Kohaks you're only about an hour away from hand picking a beauty .
I've got to agree with Dick. Starting an new family tradition like this can be a great thing

Steve, if you are looking for a good Tancho Kohak...you first got to figure out how much you want to spend...A perfect Tancho pushes the price a bit higher. But the key to a very good tancho is the shiroji...If the shiroji isnt super white the tancho doesnt standout regardless of the shape of the tancho.

Mike fine example of Tancho...The tancho is a bit too big, but the fact the white ie WHITE...The shape of the tacho doesnt really matter, the focus is the tancho and that is what this tancho represents.

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking to spend some money but not too much. What's the place your talking about PapaBear? Sounds like a road trip.

I was thinking of planting a Japanese Maple but all of the ones I have planted end up dying due to the HEAT. I have one right now holding on with a few new green leaves showing up.

Drop Sangreal a PM

Maries favorite domestic breeder is in Fresno and if you take a look at some of her recent Kohaku posts you'll see why. Pretty nice looking stuff
