Let's put it this way, in California regardless of North and South you'll find a koi store...so finding one is not the easy part it's seeing what each dealer has to your liking..

All the above dealers, have something for everyone. Now if I was traveling to Northern California, Genki & Champion would be at the top of my list.

Compared to some of the previously mentioned vendors, Toyoma is high end.

Thanks, all...now if only they take out that stupid new rule with not bringing anything liquid on the plane...I was planning on bringing one or 2 koi back on the plane. Oh well. I still like to check out the stores...

have the stores ship to you, various airlines do handle fish/koi. southwest airlines does. once i had bought a ~11" koi in norcal, and it shipped to LA for $45. just ask the dealer/retailer.

...and who is it that you're comparing. I know all these dealers personally. Don't ever embarass them by mentioning their name in the same breath as Toyoma!! I'm glad you think they're high end! When you learn more about this hobby and selecting fish, come back here and apologize to the rest of us for this insult!
