Just wish to point out; in the meny years I've been on these boards I have never been less than respectful in my comments even to the point of supporting people being abused by other posts.

Do me a favor Steve and comment on theis last sentence.

And now there's you. I know you and believe I see a dishonest person.

I will comment when I see misinformation being posted. There are so many new hobbyists lurking here hoping to learn about the hobby. They don't know what to believe so they will run with misinformation with as much confidence as constructive information.

My last was a comment to Mike, not Steve.

Per Rich's request

And not a personal assessment of my own by any means but I will stay that in all of the years (6 or so?) I have read Rich's posts, I can't recall him ever being critical of a person (ideas, yes, person, no)....other than Koiczar.

Steve

I'm not concerned with being able to grow my fish to "jumbo" status. My personal taste is for fish of 24-28" size. I have already accomplished this with 3 and 4-5 more very close behind. Your info based on your personal experience helps put a finer point on other's opinions on the subject. That was my reason for asking. As for Rich's comments - I will leave them at that. I'm not going to get into something with someone who knows not from whence they speak.

The thread subject is shotgunning and parasites, not growing Koi to Jumbo status. Parasitic infectation are a function of fish load and water quality. Although better water quality through lower stocking densitites can lead to more growth, it will reduce the likelihood of parasitic infestation when coupled with other improved husbandry skills.
