seattle show sept 9th & 10th

Kentaro Sakai of Hiroshima will be head judge for this annual show in the kenmore/bothell area in a quaint collection of shops called Country Villiage.
Chris C who frequently posts here is show chair. This is the state's last show for the year, so for all those who wish to take in one this year this is it!
The club, Washington Koi and watergarden was started many moons ago specifically to have a koi show in the seattle area. I was on the planning team and the club's first president.

If I recall correctly, weren't you one of the instigators responsible for the creation of the first WKWGS Koi Show?

Why not tell the story here?

Gosh Joel, We'd probably have to tell it in installments to get everyone mentioned who conntributed. If i remember correctly there were about 13 folks that stayed with the effort for over a year to form and plan. The club started with pretty close to a hundred membership. It was so big that instead of meeting at folks houses we had to move it into a public meeting place to accomodate the size.

Joel and I used to attend another club in the area that we wanted to get a show started with but could never really get it underway. I think that was the biggest factor that motivated the the gang to start the new club. Joel was instrumental in getting the judges from japan that started that tradition.

Joe you need to see this show! It's technically outside but always in a tented
parking lot. This gives protection from the elements yet allows natural light in to give the judges a fair chance to judge the coloration. On occassion it has rained ( this is seattle! )LOL....hence the tents. Always some very good koi displayed here ( this is in Joel's backyard practically ) So you know there will be some very special koi available....take time to come see us. Often times I think a few un-named states think they are the only one that have competitive koi...we do alright for ourselves in in seattle!

Joe.....here's a link for directions. Easy to find.

http://www.washingtonkoi.org/

As far as the 2 four legged friends, you can walk around with them. Real informal area with some nice grass areas with shrubs for the terriers to do whatever....lol. Usually see a couple four legged companions with folks, so no need to leave in the car.

Directions

Country Village is located at 23718 Bothell Everett Highway just two miles north of downtown Bothell on State Route 527. From Northbound I-405, take exit #26 and turn left. Go one mile to Country Village.
From Southbound I-405, take exit #26 and turn right. Go one mile to Country Village.
