Folks, this thread is creating misconceptions about a situation involving real people, their families, their reputations and livelihoods. There is a great deal of harm being done, although the true facts are largely unknown by those posting. I realize most have no idea of the harm being done. I'd suggest everyone should think of the consequences to others of continuing to post.

Not sure who or what you are referring to Mike, certainly nothing in any of my posts was directed at any particular individual, job, or contractor. But then messing up other's people's hopes and dreams does seem to be a specialty around here at times. Some who post and some who just advertise.

Now would it be different if the money mentioned was $500K? No names were mentioned in this thread and how true to real life this is no one knows.

I ask people to vision what their "IDEAL" pond would be if they had $400K? Simple question nothing other than that.

I know a Johnson Metasys for a small building can run $500k by itself. And I would want that on my dream system and will eventually have it on my whole facility down here. I have one sitting here but it is uninstalled.

I poured the slab for another spawning tank today....I think it cost about $20........

this thread has over 1000 hits. people like to dream about what they could do with that kind of money to build a koi pond. many threads are inspired by real life events. i don't see any evil in it.

It's like my old boss used to tell me over and over "don't think out of your own wallet". Sure to you and me that sounds like a rediculous amount of money to be kicking around a fish pond, but to some people...well you know the rest of the story. My daughter's friend's parents almost bought a lousy new sofa that cost 30 k. Nobody's reputation is getting ruined here, this is just a blip on the radar, it's all relative.

I could build a pond like no other with $400k

Same style as my current pond and garden, just somewhat bigger

I guess it would look a lot like this.

Not just the US. I bet you would have a hard time finding a more beautifull Japanese garden anywhere in the world. Fact is, many moons ago, I saw pictures of this garden in a magazine. When planning my current pond, I had this garden as inspiration in the back of my mind.

For anyone interested in more pictures from the garden of the Adachi Museum of Art:

Enjoy
