Yes, it is like opening a package and getting socks or underwear. As a kid you are totally disappointed, at least I was, but maybe not you.

Thats the feeling you get when you unwrap your present on christmas morning, and instead of the firetruck you asked for, you get a barbie

But on-topic:

I have two nisai Showa from SFF. The pictures are on KB, but for some reason can't add them to this post

Joe,
I think you have got it now!

By the way, how are you posting without your name on the user board?

Joe

If your new present doesn't turn out that's simply part of the education process right?!

I totally agree with Russ on this one. Xmas in October - when nobody else is celebrating anything (other than maybe a birthday). Seeing the fish as they're taken from the mud pond is the gift the breeder gives us - buying that special koi from amongst those fish is the gift we give ourselves. I still have vivid memories of my tancho showa when I first saw it wallowing in the mud, then when it was bowled on the back of the truck for me to see clearly!! That to me is XMAS!!

No, we are sold out of fish, we have maybe 12 or so left. We have another 18 boxes coming from Sakai in two weeks though. Sort of a pre-Chistmas happening. It will give us new fish for the Sacramento show as well.

If I was 10 years old and I got a koi before the latest and greatest new GI JOE figure for XMAS that koi would be in a tank getting some Cobra science experiment handed to him. HAHAHAHAHA Anyways, anyone have any pics of their SFF fish...Seems like alot more of our hobbyist friends in Asia and Europe have them..
