Talking Did great at the show...THANKS to koi-bito members!!!

So...I did my second koi show ever. The Pioneer valley show in Mass. Did really well. I won Kokugyu in size 1 with this showa. (There were only 4 sizes.) I also won with these other fish..as well as some others. I really want to thank Dick B. for the help picking this asagi, on this website, some months ago. She won hands down...and there was ooooh's and ahhh's when she was benched. I will have the details on all my awards tommorow...won lots. They gave out the awards at the show(unknown to me)...It was supposed to be at the banquet tonight. So, I show up at the banquet...and no awards. Plus, everyone already knows what I won but me?!?! Psyched about it all....Judges were Burt Ballou and Joe White. I will post more tommorow...BUT, Thanks to everyone on this board...your input has taught me so much...Koi-Bito RULES!!!!

Brutuscz . . .

Kudos. And glad you had such a good time, too.

Congratulations!
I am really intrigued by the Koi shows.
Until I came here, I didn't know there were shows.

Maybe someday I'll give it a shot, but I have much to learn.

I really like the fish in the first pic, it is gorgeuos.

Thanks for all the well wishes...it means a lot!!! Just did waaay better than I anticipated. My goal for next year is to make a bigger splash in the large sizes...something to shoot for!!!

Congrats! How many koi did you bring to the show? Moving up to compete in bigger sizes is also moving up in money and patience .

I brought 13 koi to the show. Biggest one was size 3. Most were size one. I am not sure how many koi were there. There were 18 tubs, but they weren't all full. Instead of buying more tosai..I will try to buy more selectively 2-3 year olds. I almost bought a ringer for this show. But, I ended up buying a new home...and will be moving and building a new pond. So, kept the money in my pocket and had no fish for the big sizes...oh well, next year. Time to save my pennies.

Congrats...especially on the Showa.

More folks should give it a try. It really does make the whole show more fun to be a participant.
