Although there were only about 60 koi in the show, there was an abundance of enthusiasm and good will among the show entrants and everyone the entire weekend. The rain on Friday may have dampened some in their effort to catch and bring their koi to the show, however overall the quality of koi brought to the show was good, and there were larger fish this year compared to last. Congrats to all the winning entrants and to all who brought fish to the show.
The venue and show arena set-up was outstanding reflecting the long term planning and organization of the show planners. To all the folks in the Pioneer Valley club, congratulations on a job well done... Karen, Bruce, Mel, Tim, Bob, Sandy, John, Roc, Sherri, and all the guys who worked the nets and bowls and made this show go. The trophies were very nice and reflected a lot of thought and preparation. Thanks to all the women too that prepared the ribbons and organized the awards. Don't mean to leave out anyone here, everyone did a great job. It was a pleasure to be invited back again this year as an assistant judge to But Ballou. The number and quality of vendors at this show was comparable to the best shows anywhere in the USA!
Thanks for a great weekend,
Joe White
