| Very nice. As with Hasegawa Kohaku generally, the bone structure is not that of a koi likely to grow to huge size. She has the softer curves that look best, IMO, around 26"-28"... a graceful fish, rather than a powerful one. Several years ago, when I had a 4500+ gallon pond, there was a dealer who tried to talk me out of buying a Hasegawa because "they get a brilliant red, but won't grow any more than 28 inches". He encouraged me to get a koi likely to grow "well over 30 inches". That convinced me to get the Hasegawa... bright red, attractive pattern, graceful fish, sized to be appropriate for a pond under 10,000 gallons. Unfortunately, turned out to be male. Still, I very much enjoyed that fish. |
