Nice link Bradley, I agree that it would be wonderful to have audio files on all of those terms.

Shusui is another one that I finally gave up on pronouncing correctly. I would get funny looks everytime I pronouced it the way I had been taught. A lot of people pronounce it shu - shu - ee, but I had always thought it was more like shu - swee.

Which is it?

I always want to say Shu-Su-Wee (anglo thinking), but according to the audio files Shu-Swee is correct.

There was a Japanese breeder here in my area that I studied under for some 25 years. He bred shusui and his pronounciation was the same as yours, Larry's and mine. That's also the way I hear it pronounced when I'm in Japan
