That's probably the very best Midorigoi I've ever seen and I've seen a few over the years.

Keep her healthy and enjoy

Who's the breeder, and do you have any other pictures? Since we hardly ever get to see midorigoi, it would be nice to see some pictures of it's development.

Our Midori

I actually was off by a year on her age. She is now 8 years old. We purchased her from Ray Abell in 2000. He did not provide me with the name of the breeder.

She was entered in the Altanta Show that autumn and took the Most Unique award. In the Spring of 2001 we entered her in the All Florida Show where she once again took Most Unique. I remember that year was the year of Midori's. In June we packed up our fish and drove from Atlanta to Dallas where she lived in a wading pool for 4 months until the new pond was done. She has been shown in both Dallas and San Antonio where she has won both Most Unique and Best Doistsu B.

She was around 14" when we got her. She is now about 26". I do have pictures of her...just not here at work.

Her head almost always has a green hue. The rest of her will go from a pale green to yellow depending on the temperature of the water.

She is a very special fish for Tom and I. Thank you for your compliments.

Midori

I bought this little lady as a small tosai, and she was much greener then. The pic was taken at night with a flash, so the photo is a bit yellow, although the fish has gone more yellowish as she has grown. She is 3 yrs now, about 40 cm, and was locally bred.

The green colour is more pronounced on the scales than in the skin of the fish ... I'm not even sure if she is a true modori, as she has spawned before, and they are saud to be sterile. Any comments ?? She is still a very unusual fish and one of my favourites.

I saw Jennifer's koi at the Dallas show this year and it is much more spectacular in person. Absolutely beautiful. Definitely something you don't see everyday.

Found a few more photos of the Midori

These photos are a couple of years old when she was AKCA fish of the year. I don't have any digital photos of her as a young fish.
