RIP Steve Irwin...aka Croc Hunter

I know this isnt koi related, but is animal related. Just felt compelled to say prayers out to his family.

I quess there were many things about him that were enduring. "Crikey" was a unique exclaimation. His wife is American born....and his son's name as simple and short as one can get "Bob"....I quess after all is said and done he was a person who was passonate about the animals he loved....not unlike all of us....so naturally as birds of a feather we'd be drawn together......

*stunned by the loss*

Steve Irwin was a true animal person. He understood them more than most people on the planet. My friend and exotic animal behaviorist Bill Pentler knew Steve and used to crack a lot of jokes about him:

"Here we have the rare and elusive Zimbabwe Stinking Lizard, the deadliest flatulating reptile in the world. Let's pull its tail and see what happens..." *foof* "CRIKEY!"

Steve will be sorely missed in this household and by everyone that was captured by his wit and knowledge. My prayers go out to his wife Terri, daughter Bindi and son Bob for their incredible loss.

I think we as koi keepers can connect with him because he did things with such passion. I will miss the guy. Prayers to his family & close friends.

My favorite thing about him was his youthful enthusiasm for every breath of air that he breathed. He was exhausting to watch and so damned entertaining. Let's face it though, didn't you think that his life would end in some way such as this? Rest in peace croc hunter, and my thoughts are with your family. Unk

It is quite sad. I have been following the news about him closely. He was pro-quarantine in Australia.
