Where to purchase Baytril®

Does anyone know of a good place to purchase Baytril®? Has it been taken off the market? Do you need a prescription to buy online? Do you use the 22.7 mg/ml? Can it be bought in Mexico? Is there anything currently better for ulcers?

Try to your nearest vet, if he doesn't have Baytril, he'll have another fluorokinolone (Marbocyl, A180 ...)
If Baytril use 10 mg IM/72 h, 3 times

When I do a search on Baytril I keep running into articles about it being pulled off the market. Is it still widely available in the US?

Yes, It can be purchased in Mexico as enroxil 10% for Bovinos y Cerdos (cattle & pigs). I have 100 mg bottle from Laboratorios Senosian S. A. de C.V.

Nice waterfall Dizy Fish!

No worries Mitch, you are basicly looking for Enrofloxacin. I have plenty if you need a dose, it's been refrigerated and a year old.

I find this site helpful: http://koi-unleashed.co.uk/

Doseage rates and a good treatment / diagnoisis tree. Baytril has been in use and over use for so long that I don't find it as effective or as efficient as it once was 10 plus years ago. I prefer Amikacin or Azactam. Both much heavier hitters than Baytril. Check out the above link.

As far as ulcers go a good cleaning and topical treatment like Debride is also in order - also see above link.

Kingkong,
Thanks for the offer but I have a lot of koi, and more than one that need injections. I'm going to be going to Nogales, Mexico this upcoming week so I'll pick some up there. I want to once again thank everyone for their replies.
Mitch

PS
KK, I honored you by naming the fastest growing kohaku fry after you. He was the first one I had to take out of the swimming pool. No telling how many sibling he ate before I caught the rascal. He is growing nicely in with the big boys now.
