Adding liner to your existing liner?

Can you add liner to your existing liner? What I mean is that if I wanted to make my pond deeper could I put a seem in the liner to add about 2-3' to it all the way around. I can raise the ground around my pond about 1' to give it more depth. My pond now is 2-3' deep and wish I would have made it deeper.

There is a seam tape, but I dont think any pond builder would suggest using it.

Antonio is right, the seam tape only works if you can lay the two pieces on a flat surface, like a 2 x 12 board, clean both sides and roll them together. It would be too hard to do while in the pond and you would never get a good joint. The best thing to do would be to remove the liner and start with a single new piece.

Even at that, the sealing tape does not work well enough to rely on it making a watertight bond to any satisfaction. The liner needs to be "welded" and it's just not worth the effort. Besides, liner isn't that expensive.
