New Addition to the pond

Picked this one up last week from Jesus Brito at the OKKS monthly meeting. We're calling her (we thing its a her anyway ) Henrietta.
18" nissai born in the Downs' mud pond in Norman, Ok. , which is where we're going next month for the annual POND PULL
I apologize for the fuzzy pix, but the digicam got left at the meeting and we used a disposable. (boy do they SUCK )

I forgot to mention the price

She was FREE . Was the smallest Koi in Jesus' collection and it was raffled off after we put the rest of his Koi in his new mud pond for the winter.

Good grief! NEVER name your koi- it's bad luck! Now he's doomed! Seriously, he will probably be OK with a name but don't ever say he is also your FAVORITE outloud because then he IS doomed for sure! JR

Too late. All our Koi are doomed because my wife can't resist naming them . Besides, Henry (one of the other club members) actually won the Koi but didn't have room or need for another, so he gave it to Marion with the understanding she name it after him .

Not sure of exact lineage

The parent stock was in Chuck and Kimberly Downs mudpond and IF I remember correctly all their Oyagoi are Matsunosuke, Dianichi, and Momotaro. I could be wrong about that so if anyone knows different please feel free so correct me. I do know they have some outstanding imports in their collection.

Larry . . .

congrats on your new acquisition! With that chain of events, it was obviously destined for your pond.

I'll wait to see better pix before commenting -- it's hard enough to critique koi from good pix and I won't try to do it from those.
