What a koi club can give back to the community?

I was wondering what other koi clubs were doin to give back to their local communities, besides cleaning the community pond so to speak.

They are educating the masses! At least those who will listen.

Well, the first ever meeting I ever went a couple of years back they were *****in' about money this and money that. I always wondered if any of these clubs ever helped at a shelter help serving food on holidays or other things like that. Giving back to the community....I think it is more Hope than any of the other things mentioned.

I'd say, a cure for cancer would be nice but personally, I'd settle for a strong message about rocks in the bottom of koi ponds? JR

Wouldn't we all.

Personally I think coercing a club to do volunteer work is ok and all but volunteer work is something you have to personnally want to do. I suppose asking people to bring a toy for toys for tots or clothes for the local homeless shelter for the annual club christmas party wouldn't be a bad idea.
