Dick (Benbow),

Mr. Sakai was returning directly back to Japan, and that is why Quality Koi came West for this show, to be able to show Mr. Sakai their results of breeding the Matsunoske line. The domestic Gosanke that Ross Morgan (Quality Koi) brought with him were excellent examples of the strides being made in domestic breeding. Mr. Sakai was so impressed with their results that he bought two for an American friend.

Wow, sounds like we missed a great show and another opportunity to listen and learn. Looking forward to our trip on the 18th for harvest, hopefully we will pick-up all that was taught and maybe more. Congrats to the winners plus all the "shakers and movers" that put on the show. Our koi hobby is enriched by these shows and the generous efforts put forth by all.

Bob Winkler would be a good sensei on the board, but in person Erwin who visit Russ on a weekly basis would make for a great mentor. He is mentored by one of the judges at the show and that is Larry Gill....

You are right, Nancy. Erwin is a great resource, too! (I'm a little jaded because I think he is really nice, too.)
