Talking My great time @ Sac koi show!!! and much more

OMG IT WAS SOO FUN!!!

I met Mr. Toshio Sakai thanks to my friends @ Pskoi.
I asked him a lot of Questions. I was nervous as hell though.

I won 2 koi @ auction.
The first was a momotaro sanke worth $150 and won the auction for $45.
People said I was lucky but I was thankful I got the fish. but I have Yet to learn about it.

The second was a Gin rin Parachina Ogon worth $100 won the auction for $35.

The Final Koi I got Was A Tategoi Showa, from Sakai I believe. This was a great gift from the Wonderful People at PSKOI.

I will get pictures as soon as I can.

Man this day has to be probably the best day in my koi life.

Along with my great day, my best friend Jordan Perry came with me to the koi show, he shows a lot of intrest in it, but sometimes I have a really hard time getting him to be enthusiastic about it though.

Well I gave him a $5 and he had $5, I told him to go over to the Pskoi Booth, and get a koi. He was clueless in looking for what he wanted. Kari helped him with choosing a main variety, Kari and Jordan came up with the oldest Variety KOHAKU.
Kari and Him chose some really nice ones, I believe they were Sakai stock.

I gave Jordan my old pond, it is the well, not so perfect size to start out with, but Its the same type of pond I started out with..
I am going to be Koisitting the 2 Kohaku in my pond until his pond is set up correctly, which I dont think will be hard for him...

Man the day was sooo great...
I will always remember it, for the milestone of my koi life and the beggining of my best friends....

It did my heart good to read your post....lilhelper....
the enthusiasm and joy you exhibited are what koi keeping is all about.

The trouble with asking Toshio questions is you can only scratch the surface as to what this man knows....even after 30 some years of following this guy
and his style of matsunosuke bloodline.....it's a challenge.

Having a good reliable dealer to work with is a good thing...I had a chance to meet yours in Portland recently...you have several good things going for you.....

best wishes for the best fishes.....

Sounds Great Lilhelper. I am very happy that you had such a super day!

I also had a great weekend helping judge this show. Great people, super judging team, and the opportunity and honor to work alongside Sakai San. Always a joy to see him, and also Agnes and Miwa Sakai too. It was a bit like talking with him in Japan. He taught us so much, and his lecture was very special and full of new info. Dispelled some pond construction and theory "rules", which is very timely for me.

Super weekend. Ya'll missed a good one if you didn't go, so don't miss it next year.

Gear Down Big Shifter.. She has a boyfriend and is probably too old for you....LOL. JK

Agnes Kan, the primary translator is not a "Sakai", but most often travels with Mr Sakai to do the translating as an integral part of his "party". Miwa Sakai, "a bonafide Sakai", does some translating and speaks English pretty well. Both ladies are attractive inside and out, and very classy. But don't tell my wife I said that...oh go ahead, she knows them too.
