Andrews Koi Internation, is a great place, Andy and his wife Luise (LuLu) run the bussines, Andy works full time for the school district, while Lulu runs the koi shop. If you have the chance to go to Andrews stop on the weekend after 12, you will be sure to see Andy that way.
Eastern Nishikigoi, originally was Pacific Koi & Goldfish, Joa Akimora's parents started the bussiness, when his parents passed on Joe took over. Joe retired about 17 years ago. The bussiness was completely closed for around 4 years. And you are correct Ken was a young fish geek. Ken started as a hobbiest, he then started selling koi out of his home, while still in High School. after a couple years he moved to another location in a warehouse. He went to college and worked on increasing his bussines. Ken finally had enough savings to lease the store he now calls Eastern Nishikigoi. Ken still works full time as a system analyst at the university of Fullerton, and full time at the koi store. His love for koi is amazing. He is a very quite young man. Ken has build what once was just a small koi and goldfish store into a very large operation. Since Ken bought this bussines, he has built an addtional 19 ponds over 200,000 gallons of water in total.
All three of these dealers are wonderful people, hard working with vast knowledge. If you have the opportunity to see them all, I think you will be very impressed with all of thre operations. Also there is one more dealer I would also recommend, Mystic koi, Bill and his wife Sandy and son Shawn all run this family bussiness. Mystic koi is a great place to go.
