Ross . . .

thanks for posting the ante-mud pix of #'s 9 & 10. Fascinating to 'see' them develop through time lapse photography! Great thread.

LOL, Dick. My idea of cold weather gear is a sweatshirt! (We have a record breaking cold front coming through. It's going to be down to 49F tonight. The pond this evening was at 74F. I'm gonna have to remember where the sweaters got put. )

Feedin time!

Some before and after mud pond photos of koi from the harvest this past weekend. I've taken pics from the previous post, replacing them here, to save space.

Thanks Tony, I've been waiting to here from somemore of our new West coast friends! We had a great time with you guys at the Sac show- good people. Several of the koi I had at the show are heading for our tategoi growout systems for winter, and I will be able to track their progress here. I'll post the pics of those koi tomorrow to start the progression.

Ross, incredible increase in girth size man! Also the color really came up nicley on a few of them too. May have to have one of these home bred beauties and represent at the shows! I need an all American girl dude, or is it Japanese American?

Peace,
Chris G.

Chris,
Here's another way to look at it.....could be an internation girl....because parents are japanese, they were born in america, Mat (along with Ross ) who ultimately manage who stays and grows and who goes...is from the UK. So truely is more than japanese american.

Quess it goes back to the old dilemna about a rose with any other name would smell as sweet....I think there is gonna be about a dozen of us from washington state going back there this weekend. YOU need to bring a few koi-kichi's back yourslef and come and see what's going on......

It was cold here, too, JR. The pond got down to 72F overnight. My gals are eating less in these chilly temperatures. (Really.)

....It's gonna be a great weekend come rain, shine or cold.
