Hawaii Earthquake!

Checking up with all the Hawaii folks. Are all your ponds still intact? I spoke to my family today and they said...there was some serious rock'n and rolling this morning! 6.6 scale. (At least for Hawaii standards). Hope all is well. ALOHA!

I emailed some friends yesterday but have not heard back. That's a pretty strong reading so it had to do some damage. I too hope all of our koi kichi friends and ponds are doing well

On Oahu it was not to bad as far as damage. But NO electricity for 17 hours!! Also weather was very rainy and muggy. That meant no football, no going outside....just reading everything in your house of interest twice. Airports was shut down....even car travel was only if you had to because outage was island wide so no traffic lights. Lines at stores was out the doors. The nice part is in Hawaii even at this kind of time everyone is still pretty laid back and cordial.....willing to help the next guy. So most koi friends was checking each other if they needed help and if everything okay.

Nancy, Joe and Dinh....thanks for your thoughts.

Louie,
I don't know if Gary is okay but I do know that most of the damage was in Kona. Hospital was evacuated and there were landslides all over. Safeway and Walmart had their roofs collapse along with residential houses. Good thing all this happened in the early morning and on a Sunday.

Eighteen seconds of excitement followed by an eighteen hour black-out. The fish are fine and the kids learned how to play Monopoly.
