You know you are a koi nerd when you can identify the crowd at a Sakai pull.
Being a nerd is fine, being an enthusiast is great..... but being a koi kichi is awesome! We are all koi kichi.

Saw some folks we know

When they got to the hotel Russell, Mike, Erwin, Tadashi, and Chiaki had dinner at the great restaurant next to the hotel. While they were there Mr. Nagata and Ben Plonski came in for dinner. They are all going to the new Matsunosuke wherehouse in Nagaoka to meet up and caravan to the mud pond. He said everything went well, for the most part, and he is excited to start the day. I hope they get some pictures on when the day is over today (for them...)

i Kinda like having a running commentary to know they arrived safe, who they saw, what they did....kinda leads up to the big event. I hope I see Dan Olson in the photo's saturday...just to know he got there all right.

exciting stuff....

Cool First Day with the Matsunosuke Brothers!

We spent our entire first day with Sakai and participated (watched) the pulling of his two largest ponds and two of his Nisai farms. We started out at the Yamamatsu greenhouse in Nagaoka and then drove up in the mountains to the mud ponds.

BTW, where is Waldo..........ooops I mean Erwin. You can see him in these pics. How many times?

Talking Back to Yamamatsu in Yamakoshi

Once the Koi were loaded, we all drove back to the old Yamamatsu.

We were very surprised to see Toshio speaking with Larry Gill.
