I too have studied several languages over the years and, given enough time, can read them, even if I'm not good enough to understand or speak. The other day I read something and still don't know what language it was in!!! I know it wasn't Japanese.

Sorry for being rude and not translating what I wrote. I was thinking that Lil dude would have responded. What I wrote is "I can speak a little Japanese."

I'm sorry you weren't able to make it this harvest season. More reason for you to go to the All Japan. Hopefully the pictorials that your hubby is doing will give you a little bit of satisfaction of not being there. Say hello to Cory for me.

Lesson 2

Lesson 2: Learning the First 5 Characters of the hiragana.
The first Japanese characters we will learn are the VOWELS; these are the Vowels that I Mentioned Earlier in Lesson 1.

Remember how they are pronounced.

A:

I:

U:

E:

O:

Please memorize these correctly, and please practice writing them.

Here is how I am going to Incorporate the Japanese characters in the words that we will be learning.
I am going to continue writing the Japanese in English but as new characters come up, I will be replacing the vowel/consonant with the newly introduced Hiragana character.
This may be confusing but you will understand later in future lessons.
Note: when there is a double character in this instance いい, one just stretches the sound, so since , is the “I” vowel, you stretch the sound ee, to do iie- (EE-EH)

あい- Blue, Love

いいえ- No

いえ- House

- Picture

おい- Hey
