I checked the japanese language installment, it is set to hiragana and I didn't see anything to change this or add the katakana as well, but I'll keep looking.. Not real sure how this program works, and it sure looks like it isn't working right at all!
I do think I agree, writing and learning the words both together may be a bit much for me,lol! Must learn to think in Japanese first, then type/write!

You are getting really close, but you are mixing up some things.
Your way: Watakushi daisuki tabemasu maki-sushi.- Somewhat Incorrect.
Here is the correct way: Watakushi wa maki-sushi ga daisuki desu.


Watashi wa desu shushi.--- Hmmm, this one is really weird, I know exactly what you tried to say, but its really weird.

Ok you wrote watashi wa desu sushi.
It should have been wrote "Watashi wa sushi desu".
It means "I am sushi"

You have the concept down, its just the sentence structure is a bit backwards than english.

Dont worry you didnt do bad, infact you did a lot better than I when I started out.

It was a joke Lil.... I kept thinking I'm toast IE Bombing/not getting it/AHHHHH! ..... and yes this is making my brain work, but since toast wasn't in the list, I used sushi!

I also gave up on that program, it doesn't seem to be working at all now for some reason. Next time I take the comp in for service I'll have the guy's look at it!

Daikirai- to hate
demo- but, as well, though.

Jin- Ethnic; Citizen

Hoshii- To want
Jya Arimasen- Am not.
Arimasu- To have, Is

I am not 100% on Arimasu's Validility, but treat it as if it is correct.
